A letter in the time of COVID-19

"This is the time for facts, not fear. This is the time for science, not rumours. This is the time for solidarity, not stigma. We are all in this together, and we can only stop it together." - Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghrebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organisation.
The situation is changing not only daily, but hourly. Our phones regularly vibrate with new updates of the number of people affected by COVID-19. There is so much uncertainty for so many at the moment. We would like to express our sympathy and offer our thoughts to those affected by COVID-19, both in the regions in which we work and at home.

Of course COVID-19 is having an affect on every industry, from toilet paper running out in supermarkets to macro-economic impacts.  But of course, the travel industry is more affected by most.

At the moment it is too premature to make assumptions about how events will unfurl in the coming months.  However, we are remaining optimistic in our intentions to plan and deliver trips that are taking place in October.

At ISHKAR, we are still continuing to plan ahead for the coming months. Nevertheless, it is our utmost priority to not only ensure that our travellers remain healthy and safe when travelling with us. We are following advice and checking alerts from the World Health Organisation (daily updates available here) along with conferring with peer companies.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide travellers booked on our trips with updates on whether or not trips are going ahead, as far in advance as possible. All travellers will receive refunds should trips be cancelled outright.

Let's follow the words of Director General of the World Health Organisation: together we can fight back against COVID-19 and support all those affected.

Best regards,

Zanna
