Zarif Design is a Kabul based atelier who specialise in high-quality tailoring of fine fabrics from Afghanistan and Central Asia. Returning from abroad, Zolaykha Sherzad founded Zarif Design in 2005 to revive traditional weaving and embroidery skills that were in danger of being lost.

We’ve been working with Zarif Design since the beginning of ISHKAR. In 2018 we launched a collection of woolen waistcoats in collaboration with Zarif Design  & Norwegian Refugee Council. Zarif Design provided one year of tailoring training to 20 women displaced by conflict.
